Reading

Reading is incredibly important to us and has life-long benefits for our children.

Currently we are reading...

The Boy at the Back of the Class by Onjali Q. Rauf

The story follows Ahmet, a new boy in school who has arrived in the UK as a refugee. At first, he is quiet and feels unsure, but his classmates show kindness and friendship as they learn about his journey. They work together to help him feel safe and included.

This book helps us learn about empathy, kindness, friendship and understanding others’ experiences, especially those who have had to leave their homes because of conflict.

Have a look at our class texts below to see the other books we are reading throughout the year.
