Pupil Premium Award Winners
16th January 2015
Mrs Whitney was delighted to receive in the post a letter from David Laws MP, Director for Education. It commended Newlyn School on achieving super results across the juniors for children who are from disadvantaged backgrounds and awarded the school £1000.
The letter stated that Newlyn School is 'one of the most improved schools in the country in terms of attainment and progress of your disadvantaged pupils since 2011.' Also that 'it is clear that you and your staff have provided your disadvantaged pupils with a good start in life and prepared them well for secondary school.'
