School councillors

The school councillors meet every fortnight.

During the 2022 autumn term they devised and conducted a survey about feeling safe in school. The results were discussed and collated and ideas have started to be put into place in the playground and surrounding school areas.

Looking forwards to the spring term, the pupil councilors are going to be working with Thalia Marrington, the local town and Cornwall councillor. The will learn all about being a local councillor and are hoping to work on a project within the local community.

Alongside this the pupil council will be looking to new ways to develop and improve our school life and environment.

On Friday 13th January our student council met local councillor Thalia Marrington. She explained her role as councillor locally and when she has meetings in Truro. Thalia spoke to our student council about how she is putting together a request for a budget to rejuvenate the playground next to Gwavas estate and has asked them to help by conducting a survey in school for ideas of how to improve the playground. Student council are hoping to run an assembly and conduct the survey in the next few weeks.
