Partial Solar Eclipse at Newlyn School

20th March 2015

As all of the UK watched the partial solar eclipse of the Sun, many children chose to watch it at school. While others watched it with their parents, we at school set up apperatus to see the eclipse safely. The card with a small hole worked well, as so did the collender projecting dozens of semi-eclpises onto white card. We also tried watching it in the reflection of a bowl of water. This did not work well for us.  But most of all, the children were all very excited and really enjoyed the whole experience.
