RETURN TO STEPPING STONES during the Coronavirus pandemic- PARENTS DECLARATION
The purpose of this declaration is to state that you agree to the safety measures mentioned, that we need to make to re-open your ‘outstanding preschool’ and the access arrangements and times stated in the letter of 25th August.
You can help us by talking with your child about the need to stop touching/kissing/hugging their friends at the moment, so that we have a consistent approach. This is so sad, but necessary, and by
reassuring your child that even if our routines are a bit different, we will still have lots of fun!
We are sure that you have all been practicing washing hands many times a day, and using a tissue to catch any germs, kill and bin them!
Please ensure that you all wash hands before leaving home and we will continue this many times a day
We suggest ‘pull-ups’ if your child is not yet toilet trained, if possible please
Please apply sunscreen before you leave home, we will play outside as much as possible.
We will have to greet you outside for the time being, so sorry that we cannot invite you into our welcoming reception area, but please do not hesitate to ask for any parenting information that you are unsure about, we will do our best to provide notices on the outside of the building.
What should my child bring in to Stepping Stones? As little as possible really!:
A named bag containing a change of clothes, pull ups (nappies) and wipes if required, sunhat, coat, wellies, and drink of water in a recognisable unbreakable bottle all named please
**Please do not bring any items or own toys into Stepping Stones

RETURN TO STEPPING STONES during the Coronavirus pandemic- PARENTS DECLARATION
I hope that you have managed to find the time to read some of the measures (sent out on 20th May), that we need to make to re-open your ‘outstanding preschool’, as soon as we feel safe to do so.
You can help us to reassure your child that even if Stepping Stones routines are a bit different, we will still have lots of fun!
The children’s pegs (with photos) will be moved to a more ventilated space for a while, and we ask that children wear clean clothes in each day (even if we haven’t managed to get them filthy for you, ha,ha) which cover their limbs for protection.
We suggest ‘pull-ups’ if your child is not yet toilet trained, please
We are sure that you have all been practicing washing hands many times a day, and using a tissue to catch any germs, kill and bin them!

23rd May 2020
Thanks to all our parents for your continued support, we hope that you have had a chance to read our provisional plan for re-opening, which has been emailed to you and is available on the website www.newlyn.cornwall.sch.uk
Concerns have been made about some changes which may have an effect on children’s emotional health, thus we need to stress that we cannot give you a definite start date at the moment, until we feel more safe than we do at present.
Everyone’s health and safety is top priority to us, so please take the greatest of care, and we will keep you informed of a start date when we have one.
Enjoy the bank holiday weekend
Sue and the girls.
Stepping Stones will be closed to children from today 20th March.
Please keep in touch as to know what happens next—the best way is via our Facebook page,
Stepping Stones Pre-School Newlyn
However, staff will be at Stepping Stones on Monday morning to make plans for our provision in this ever changing world, on 01736363050
At this point it is difficult to state when we will be able to make normal provision, but we have, for the moment, extended our Easter holidays until Tuesday 21st April, which gives us more time to work out what we can offer, and to whom, from this date onwards.
We will continue to post activities on our Facebook page, but please take care of yourselves and your lovely families. We wish you all a Happy Easter, keep safe and healthy, and enjoy your family time together.
1st April 2020
Hello to one and all! This was the letter that we sent out on 20th March, however the hope to see you all again on 21st April seems to be fading extremely fast!! I think we were a bit optimistic there! We will continue to keep in touch via Facebook, with our weekly planned activities, and links to various web sites, but if you cannot access this service,( and if you want to discuss anything more privately), please email steppingstones@newlyn.cornwall.sch.uk and we will email them out to you instead.
Until we meet again, please, please take the greatest of care,
Much love
Sue and the girls.
