Cousin Jack's Theatre Group Visit Class 3
28th January 2020
Year 3 were very excited to spend the morning with the fabulous Cousin Jack’s Theatre group (of The Mousehole Cat fame) this week. They came to introduce us to the story of Percy Pengelly and the Wibble Wobble and explore storytelling through drama.
What a brilliant morning we had. After a quick warm up in the hall, we were treated to a reading of the story by the author of the book herself, Jenny Steele Golding! This was a special moment and we did ourselves proud by listening beautifully to the story.
After that we split into three groups to talk about different parts of the story. We explored the characters and events, and then began to create our own dramatic interpretation.
We had a lot of fun planning out how to act out different animals, places, circus tricks and sea rescues!
We all learnt a lot about creating plays and scenes, and grew in confidence through our short performances. We can’t wait to do more with Cousin Jacks! Thank you!
