Class 2 Build Homes for Bugs

6th November 2019

As a part of Class 2's design and technology project, they visited Bolitho Gardens to work with professional and volunteer gardeners. Jacqui and Howard, who work for Cormac, invited the children to design and build bug homes for the gardens. The purpose is to encourage minibeasts and pollinators into the area to assist in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Together with the volunteers from FOBGANG (Friends of Bolitho Gardens and Newlyn Green), the children put all their homes into one massive bug hotel. The children thoroughly enjoyed getting their hands dirty and had a great 'hands on' learning experience.
