Boating With Class 3

24th May 2019

As part this terms topic, Mountain, Rivers and Coats, Year 3 traced the course of the Larrigan River from its source all the way to the mouth on Newlyn Green.

This week the children designed and created some lovely rafts and boats. They sawed their wood, lashed the pieces with string, created their own masts and made sails with leaves.

On Thursday afternoon we had a lovely to trip to the Larrigan River.  The weather was beautiful and the children thoroughly enjoyed taking their rafts to the river and setting sail.  We chased the boats along as far as we could and said fair well on their journey to the sea and beyond.

What a lovely learning experience they have had.  They were very proud of their creations and loved learning all about the journey they would take.
